Information

The Type A work permit applies to foreign nationals on Polish contract and payroll. A local labour market search must be carried out.

The Type B work permit is for management board members of Polish entities working in Poland for more than for 180 days in a 365-day period. For a stay of for 180 days or under in a 365-day period a work permit exemption may apply, although a Type D work visa will be required.

The Type C work permit applies to intra-company transfers on home payroll and contract and does not require a labour market test. Documentary requirements and processing times may be less restrictive than for the EU ICT Permit process.

The Type D work permit applies to transfers from a foreign employer without a local entity in Poland, to fulfil a service agreement, and does not require a labour market search test.

Employers are responsible for work permit applications. By contrast, a single permit for work and residence must be submitted by the employee.

The EU Blue Card for highly skilled employees and the EU Intra-Company Transfer Permit are also available.
