Information
The work permit for local hires applies to foreign workers hired directly by a Romanian company for the duration of the employment contract. A local labour market search is required.
The work permit for assignment is for foreign workers transferred to a Romanian company while remaining on home payroll and contract, for a maximum period of one year in a five-year period. No local labour market search is required.
Non-EEA nationals who are employed by a company in another EEA country can be assigned to work in Romania for up to one year in a five-year period without a work permit
The EU Blue Card for highly skilled employees and the EU Intra-Company Transfer Permit are also available.
