Information
The work and residence permit, issued for up to one year, is for locally hired foreign workers and requires a labour market test.
Non-EEA nationals transferred to Slovenia by an employer in an EU/EFTA country must report their transfer to the Employment Service of Slovenia (ESS) before starting work and submit a residence permit application.
The work permit for cross-border services applies when a foreign employee is temporarily transferred by a company outside the EEA with no entity in Slovenia to fulfil contractual obligations to a Slovenian client company.
The EU Blue Card for highly skilled employees and the EU Intra-Company Transfer Permit are also available.
