New collective agreement-based payment scheme for certified companies
On 3 September 2026, he Danish parliament passed a bill on a new collective agreement-based scheme for certified companies.
Employers who want to use the new scheme to bring foreign labour to Denmark must have a collective agreement concluded between the Danish Employers’ Association and the Danish Trade Union Confederation.
The new scheme, which takes effect 1 January 2027, is limited to citizens from certain countries. Currently, these will be the USA, Great Britain, Singapore, China, Japan, Australia, Canada, India, Brazil, Malaysia, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Ukraine and Moldova.
Other conditions for company certification include a minimum of ten full-time employees and at least two years of operating history. Certification is valid for an initial three years, with possible four-year renewals. The employee must be offered an annual salary of at least DKK 322,000 (adjusted annually). Certification will be carried out by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI).
SIRI temporarily extends the deadline for recording biometric features
There is currently an increased demand in appointments for having biometric features recorded (fingerprints and facial photo). Therefore, SIRI has temporarily extended the deadline from two weeks to four weeks after application submission.
Applicants should book an appointment as quickly as possible after sending their application.
Those who are not going to use their appointment should remember to cancel, as this allows another applicant to use it.
SIRI cannot record biometric features or issue re-entry permits on behalf of the Danish Immigration Service. For this, applicants must contact The Danish Immigration Service directly.
